Our History

Sixteen years ago, a group of concerned residents of Saint-Louis-du-Sud came together with a shared vision—to create lasting change for children who had been overlooked for far too long. In a community where access to education was limited and many families struggled with poverty, countless children were left without the opportunity to attend school. For generations, this cycle of hardship continued, leaving young minds without the tools needed to build a better future.

Determined to break this pattern, these committed individuals united their efforts and pooled their limited resources. Despite facing their own challenges, they believed that education was the key to transformation—not only for the children, but for the entire community.

Through sacrifice, collaboration, and unwavering dedication, they successfully raised enough funds to enroll 52 children—many of whom were orphaned or lacked any form of financial support—into school. This was more than an act of charity; it was the beginning of a movement rooted in hope, empowerment, and opportunity.

What started as a small initiative has since grown into a symbol of resilience and compassion. By investing in these children, the group planted seeds of change that continue to impact families and the broader community today. Their actions proved that even in the face of adversity, a united community can rewrite its story—one child, one classroom, and one future at a time.

In 2013, building on years of commitment to improving lives, the organization reached another historic milestone—one that would transform access to emergency care in Saint-Louis-du-Sud.

Recognizing the urgent need for medical transportation in a community where healthcare resources were limited, the group came together once again with determination and purpose. For many residents, a medical emergency often meant facing long distances without reliable transportation, turning treatable conditions into life-threatening situations.

Through collective effort, fundraising, and the unwavering support of donors, the organization successfully purchased and donated an ambulance to the community—marking a first in the history of Saint-Louis-du-Sud. This was not just the delivery of a vehicle; it was the introduction of a lifeline.

The ambulance brought immediate and lasting impact. It provided timely access to medical facilities, improved emergency response, and offered hope and reassurance to families who previously had none in critical moments. For the first time, the community had a dedicated resource to respond to urgent health needs—saving lives and strengthening the local healthcare system.
